Thank Yous

JD and Lynn wanted to thank all of the volunteers who helped out during the month of December especially those working on the jams and the New Year’s Eve Dance.  It helps greatly to have such good volunteers!

     Important News

New Years Eve Dance:  If you didn't get your tickets but want to come, they are available at the door tonight.  Tickets are $12 each.  We have lots of wonderful door prizes this evening!!

Office and Activity Office will be closed on January 1st all day.

BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR:  Cathy has had complaints about dogs leaving their messes in other people’s yards and not picking up after them on Doggie Row.

Line Dancing will resume again after Christmas.

Bible Study will resume after the Christmas holidays.

Karoake will resume on January 3rd from 3 to 6.

Choir Practice at 10 AM on Friday.

Jane Drake has sold her park model and will have an ongoing sale at her place this week at Lot 254.  Lots of various items to sell.

The Fresh Fruit and Veggie Cart will again be coming on Thursdays from 9 to 10:30 AM at Doggie Row between Trophy Gardens and Winter Ranch.  We’ve had really good reports about the quality and the prices so be sure to take a look at what is offered.

Rita Huether gave a status update on the 1st Responders.  I’ll have the text on the 1st Reponders page to the right of this page later on today when she sends it to me.

Golden Olympics – Marsha Fabricus will again be coordinating our participation in these events.  There is a newspaper flyer available in the Activities Office for anyone wanting to participate or see what all the categories are.  You can be a contest for baking, golfing, walking, biking, any card game you can name, jig saw puzzles, etc. etc.  Let’s get out and participate in the total Rio Grand Valley Event.

Morning Meetings:  Home-made cinnamon rolls will be served every other week and when the home-made rolls aren’t available, we’ll have some kind of roll or donut for you.

The internet is available in Activity Room #3 when there is nothing scheduled in the room.  The password is on the Bulletin Board in the Room.

Texas Hold’em Tournament – Texas Hold Em will now be played in the Large Hall on Fridays from 1 to 3 PM.

The Agency will be performing at the Dance on January 9th.   We sold about 144 tickets on Monday for the dance on January 9th.  (The tickets went out saying it was January 16th.  That is a mistake.  Remark your tickets to January 9th).  You can still get your tickets in the office until we run out but we are reserving seats.  The tickets are now on sale to the public so come on in and reserve your table.  We’ve sold 160 tickets thus far.  We only have this group once this year so get your tickets!!

Noon in the Large Hall.  Bring a Dish to Share with 10-12 people and your own table service.  Lee and Mary Benfield are the Coordinators.

Men’s Luncheon – Rosie Ewald is the Coordinator for the Men’s Luncheon again this year.  Thanks, Rosie!  It will be held on January 16th  at noon.  Tickets will go on sale after the Wednesday morning meetings in December.  They can seat 200.  Tickets are $7.

Hippie Party (our theme party for the season) will be held on January 20th from 3 PM to 5:30 in the Large Hall.  There will be a “Groovy” Costume Contest with prizes awarded to the most Wildly Wicked Costumed Couple, The most Righteous Dude, and the Best Hip Chick’s Costume.  A “Far Out” photo booth will be available for you and your group.  60’s Music will be provided by Mike and Carol Earley for your dancing or listening pleasure. And there will be a couple of games.  Dress up in you frayed jeans, tie dye shirts, love beads, head band, granny dresses, granny glasses, peace symbols, sandals, ankle bells or whatever else to bring out your inner Hippie.  Bring:  BYOB and appetizer to share with 12 people.  Napkins, plates and silverware will be provided.

Bob Ross Art Class - All you artists or would-be artists will want to know that the next Bob Ross class is on January 23rd. One class of 10 from 9 to
Noon and one from 1 to 4 PM. $45 per person.  Register soon in the Activities Office.  We have eight seats available.
