Introducing our Entertainers for the 2015-2016 Season:
Bernie
and Red
Bernie
and Red are two of the most popular performers to entertain Winter Texans. Shows sell out regularly. This Canadian duo
ties their English-Irish heritage to their lively variety shows, which feature
music and comedy routines that keep the audiences in stitches. The
couple, who come to the Rio Grande Valley in January, has a new show each year
but also do shows from past years so it is possible to see them more than once
and see an entirely different show.
David and
Daphne
Dave and Daphne are professional musicians and entertainers
who live in Nashville, TN, yet travel world-wide with their show.Dave's
"claim to fame", is that he was Barbara Mandrell's lead guitarist for
10 years. You may remember Daphne in Gospel Music. She was presented the "Female Vocalist
of the Year" Award by the Gospel Music Association. At home, they entertain on The General Jackson
Showboat, and Dave plays dates on the World Famous Grand Ole Opry Stage.
Their shows are high-energy and chocked full of great music, ranging from Dave's guitar instrumentals of "Orange Blossom Special" to the "Flight of the BumbleBee" and from the "Wildwood Flower" to the "William Tell Overture"!! You will enjoy Daphne's impressions of country music legends, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline! Add to that the ability to yodel out the Patsy Montana classic, "Cowboy's Sweetheart", captivate you with the smash hit from the movie "Titanic",--My Heart Will Go On", and bless you with a gospel classic, "The Lord's Prayer".

Jacob
Austin Band
The Jacob Austin Band is truly a family band consisting of
David, Liz, and Jacob Austin. Jacob, although the youngest member, is the
namesake of the group as music has been his passion since a very early age. It
is a passion that simmered for many years until Jacob became active in a local
performing arts group and found his love of singing at the ripe old age of ten.
The group has been performing together
since 2005 and has done many, many shows in all sorts of venues ranging from
churches to livestock shows. The group plays a wide variety of music:
traditional gospel, traditional country, oldies, Americana, show tunes, and
original material. Jacob plays mandolin,
mountain dulcimer and sings leads, David plays 12 string rhythm guitar and
sings harmonies and back up vocals, and Liz plays the autoharp .

Red Head
Express
The Redhead Express
are four sisters with a dream; a big dream. They left their home in Alaska
seven years ago to follow this dream, spent all of those seven years doing an
INSANE amount of shows (like 2000...seriously!) all over the country and
practicing like maniacs. Now they are in
Tennessee, the home of Country Music, and still following their dream. The music of the Redhead Express takes you
back to your Roots in a way that feels fresh and new. They are only performing at two parks here in
the valley and Winter Ranch is one of them so we are so pleased that they will
be performing for us again this season. Get out your Red Head t-shirts! Get your tickets
fast as they will probably sell out.
Vance
Greek
Vance Greek got his start singing as a
child when his family would perform in church. Greek would later tour in
England, Australia, Brazil, Mexico and the Philippine Islands. In the 1980s he
was featured on the television show “Country Gospel,” which aired on TBN.
He then moved to Branson where he performed from 1990 to 1997. “Baby I Do,” a nostalgic pop song of the late
1950s became the number one song on the New York Music Review pop charts in
February 1997. That year saw four more of Vance’s songs going to Treasure Coast
Records’ Mitch Chandler CD. Vance
performed for us at our Resident Appreciation Event last season and we know
that you’ll be excited to see his show.
Wade
Benson Laundry “Swingin Cajun Style Show”
Having performed on stages across the country and playing
fiddle alongside star artists such as Tammy Wynette, George Jones, and Jimmy C.
Wilson, Wade Benson Landry now performs at the God and Country Theater in
Branson with his show, “Wade Benson Landry's Swingin' Cajun Style”. Landry’s famous for his masterful fiddle
playing, and he puts his exceptional skill to perfect use with country, western
swing, Cajun, and gospel songs sure to delight music fans of all ages!
