Important Information:
- Our own Paul and Janet Wilson are the new liaisons from the Alamo Chamber of Commerce to all participating RV Parks and Resorts. They will keep the resorts abreast of the activities of the Chamber and the City of Alamo.
- Reminder - Please leave some mailing labels with your home address on them so that the Mail Room can forward your mail. You can order labels from the Computer Group or from the Business Office. They will make sure that the Mail Room gets them. Please allow a few days for this.
- Reminder to those of us that are leaving to make sure that all yard ornaments, chairs and anything that isn't secure be put away before we leave. With high winds that occur in Texas, anything can start flying and cause damage to property. We also need to make sure we aren't impeding grass mowing or weed eating just in case we get some rain this summer.
- Lynn reminded us to check out the blog this summer as it is our key communication piece during that time. You will especially want to check it out before you come down next season. Mary (that's me) has been busy updating the calendar for next year and there may be a few surprises for next year.
- JD announced that next year the Billiards Group will be having a Back to the 60's Party instead of a Margarita Party so keep that in mind for costumes!
- Plus, we'll have another Barn Dance at one of the Roundups again with JoAnn Sullivan.
- The non-picture Directories are for Sale for $2 in the Business Office.
- Please take any non-perishable items that we don't want to return home with to the Small Hall so they can be taken to ARISE and used by those that really need assistance.
- Judy Good said to remember to bring you bowling balls when you come next season so you can join the bowling team at the Flamingo.
- Easter Sunday Dinner - The park will provide the ham for the dinner. Please bring a dish to share for 6 to 8 people. It will begin at 1 PM. Bring you own table service. Signup sheets are on the boards across from the Mail Room. Cutoff for signing up is tomorrow. Please assist in cleaning up when the meal is done. The Coordinator for the event is Ann Draker.
Calendar Updates:
- The last Wednesday night Bingo is tonight.
- Mixed Golf starts Monday at 9:00 AM.
- The last Monday Night Potluck will be held on Monday.
Volunteers Needed for next season:
We have a ton of people who work as volunteers at Winter Ranch and that is why we are able to offer so many activities and events for all of you. Without volunteers, it would not be the same park! If you haven't volunteered in the past, here are some opportunities for you next season:
- Vicki Miller is looking for someone to make trophies for the hole in one winners for next season. Please see her.
- JD needs someone to coordinate the Super Bowl Party on February 2nd, 2014. Contact JD.
- Cathy would be interested in setting up a Ride Program for people that need rides to doctor appointments, etc. If you would be interested in helping out on occasion and based on your schedule, let Cathy know.
- If you have some expertise in any aspect of computers, hardware or software, including iPhones, iPads, iPods, Kindles, Nooks or on-line scrapbooking that you could share with our Winter Ranch folks consider joining or assisting the Computer Club. We are especially looking for people to demonstrate what they've learned on their Android tablets/phones. Even if you don't feel comfortable teaching a class, you could assist them by doing a help session and just showing people how to work their new toys. Contact Ron Doershug at Lot 676.
- Lynn would like a Coordinator to lead a new Garden Club group that would assist in beautifying the public areas of the park. Talk to Lynn about what would be involved.
- Lynn would like Co-Coordinator to plan the entertainment for the Christmas Party next year. Let her know if you are interested.
- Lynn is also looking for someone to tackle a new position as Coordinator for the Christmas Golf Cart parade so that the date is set early in December and it can be advertised well.
- JD is looking for volunteers that would be interested in working with the sound system and setting it up for events. There will be a training get together.
- Also need volunteers to work the video system. There will be training for that also.
- If anyone visits casinos this summer, please stop in and see if you can pick up some playing cards for the park for next season. We are running low. They normally will give out the decks free of charge. Stop at the office before you leave for a form to give to the casinos. Thanks!
- If you have some non-perishable food items that you can't take with you on your way home, drop them off in the Small Hall. They will be donated to ARISE for those less fortunate than ourselves.
As Cathy says at the end of each meeting:
Be Kind, Be Safe and Be Good!
