As you can see the WR 1st Responders are closing in on the Air Evac Membership Goal; thanks to all of the residents who have sent in their donations! Any donations that continue to come in, after the goal is met, will go towards the 2015 membership. Ideally we plan to cover the on-going Air Evac helicopter membership, in the following years with our fund raising dinners, through your continued support and participation at the 1st Responder dinner held each January.
The Air Evac Lifeteam crew requested a sidewalk to go from the road to the edge of the fairway, where the helicopter would load patients from the ground ambulance, onto the helicopter, for transport to the hospital. This sidewalk would look much like a cart path on larger golf courses, but for the purpose of medical emergencies. It will be level with the ground and follow the contour as well, so low maintenance for the mowers, etc. This expense will be split between WR and TG, who has begun fundraising efforts for this purpose already. The labor bid is $1100.00 and we are working on a donation or discounted cement bid as of yet. We've added a bubble and mini thermometer off to the side of our main goal on the fundraising thermometer in the Big Hall, due to this expense.
In the following pictures, you will see patio stepping stones, which have been placed on the golf course, with red hiway reflectors attached, for the helicopter to land. Gary, Freddie and Beto are shown in the pictures placing them flush with the ground, so mowers can drive over them, while keeping the course green and well maintained.
Stakes for measuring the patient sidewalk
A golf tournament will be held in February 2015, specifically for fundraising on this project. Dr Marquez and Air Evac will be sponsoring the tournament and invited to participate with the WR and TG participants. Rita is requesting the Air Evac Helicopter to come land and join us for lunch, that day. Thank you kindly for your generous support of the Air Evac project, which will enhance our service and commitment to the residents of Winter Ranch.
Sincerely,
Winter Ranch 1st Responders.
