We are so happy and pleased that one of our own was selected to receive the Winter Texan Of The Year Award from the Alamo Chamber of Commerce this year.
Barb DeGaramo has been a Winter Rancher since 2000. She has been in charge of Quilting for the Needy for several years. Thousands of Winter Ranch quilts have been donated to various organizations including Easter Seals, Veterans, ARISE and other City of Alamo organizations.

Three years ago Barb took on another project. She organized the making and filling of Christmas Stockings for the ARISE organization in the South Alamo area. We have contributed 250 stockings each Christmas season that are distributed in that needy area of Alamo during the Posada celebration.
Barb is also a great friend and neighbor here at Winter Ranch. She is always reaching out to those that need some special attention. She is an advocate for the humane treatment of animals. Barb has a big heart and tremenous stamina for which the community and Winter Ranch have benefited for the past 13 years.
