Can/Am Golf Tournament Visitors:

The Candian/American Golf Tournament for Winter Ranch and Trophy Gardens is today and so they visited the meeting this morning.  Lots of noise for both sides from the audience today.  The Americans sang "God Bless America" and the Canadians sang "Oh Canada."  The USA won the trophy this year!

The Americans

The Canadians

And they are off to Play Golf!

 IMPORTANT NEWS:

Next Year’s Rates:  Cathy still has not received them and she will let us know when she does.

Laundry Rooms – Please do not wash your dog/cat bedding in the laundry room machines.  We have had several complaints again about the mess it causes when the next person does their laundry.  Leave the machine in clean condition for the next user.  It is just common courtesy.

Cathy thanked people for turning off the lights when they leave the rest room facilities, however, we had a lady who was in the shower who didn’t appreciate being left in the dark.  Please check to make sure no one is in the facility before you turn off the lights.

Dumpsters are for garbage only.  This week we found a screen door that we have to do something with.  If you have something you want to get rid of, check with Cathy or Larry in the office.  They may have an idea of where it can be disposed of.

Cathy and Larry have an open door policy.  If you are having a problem with something or someone in the park, you can talk to them at any time about it or you can write them a note but please sign it.  Sometimes they may have to take some action and other times there may be a misconception about what is really happening.  Cathy and Larry can’t straighten out the problem if they don’t know who has it.

The Activity Department is not broke.  Apparently, there has been some gossip going around that the Activities Dept. is broke and not able to pay for supplies, etc.  This is far from the truth, however, if you have an activity that requires supplies, please give the office some notice.  Don’t expect them to come up with what you need in a matter of hours or even minutes!

Activity Coordinators:  It is now time to fill out your Activities Scheduling sheet requesting dates for your events for next season.  These sheets are outside the Activities Office (they're hot pink this year)All potlucks on Sunday next year will be from Noon to 2 PM.  When filling out your requests, give first and second choice of dates, time of day, the date you filled out the form, type of activity and a contact person with telephone and/or e-mail address.

Pictorial Directory:  The Activities Office has a stack of pictures for people that didn’t place an order but are entitled to a free picture.  Stop in and pick yours up.  Please stop in to pick them up any time the office is open except Mondays or Wednesdays when the Activities Office is just swamped with other things going on.

You may have received an Activities Office “2013-2014 Questionaire” in your mail box.  Please complete it and return it to the Mail Room.  We are looking for information on whether we are meeting your needs.  Please speak up!

Again we have to bring up the fact that the speed limit on a bike, golf cart, a truck, or any street legal vehicle is 10 MPH in the park and golf carts and bikes can both do more than that.  Please stay within the posted speed limits!

Rio Delta Propane has raised their prices again since last week.  If you need propane, check with the office as to the current price as it is changing probably because of the cold weather up north.

The Agency Dance on February 21st:  If you are planning on attending this dance, get your tickets in the Activity Office as soon as you can.  We started selling tickets and reserving seats several weeks ago and have sold 320 tickets already and JD’s target was 325.  So, if you plan on going, get your tickets NOW.  JD will be posting a SOLD OUT notice on the sign board out front shortly.

New Winter Ranch T-Shirt is available for sale
in the Business Office.  They are $8.  We have mostly Large and X-Lg and a few mediums.

Incorrect Mail:  If you get mail intended for someone else, please return it to the park mail box at the Mail Room or bring it to the Business Office.

Before you leave for the season, make sure you have mail forwarding labels for the Mail Room and make sure you put away all the stuff at your site.  Don’t leave anything out that could blow away in high winds or float away in heavy rains.

Non-pictorial Directories are now on sale for $2 each after the Wednesday morning meetings.  We have found some errors and there is a Error Sheet included in the directory.

Tours:

Gail Field, our Tour Director from Trophy Gardens, has several new trips up on her board (near the stairs in Friendship Hall).  Several people have requested trips to casinos where the bus will pick them up here at the park.  There are a couple spots available now to Eagle Pass since we had a couple of people drop out.  If we don’t fill the spots, then we will not be picked up here at the park.  The price of the tickets are $90 but you received $40 in gambling money and another $5 off breakfast.  See Gail if you are interested.
If you want to make a copy of a page in the book, take it out and do that but then please return it to the book.

Volunteers and/or Donations Needed:

Lynn is looking for a caller for Dairy Queen Bingo for the remainder of this season on Mondays at 6 PM.  Next season the DQ would like to change the time to Mondays from 2 to 3 PM.  If we get a caller, we’ll get it going again!

JD needs a caller for Bingo on Saturday night for next season.  He may need kitchen help for that also.  If we don’t get a caller, we won’t have Saturday night Bingo.

Cookies are needed for the Memorial Service on February 24thPlease sign up on the board in Friendship Hall.

Quilters for the Needy are looking for help on Thursdays with ironing, cutting and sewing quilts for the needy.  There is a terrific need this year for quilts.  They would love to have some extra helping hands.

Needed Sound System Operators and Cooks - Next season we are losing the sound system people for the jam and Donna Lewis is retiring from the kitchen.  JD is looking for some volunteers to take over those duties.  He would like to have a group so people could do the jam once a month and be the cook once a month rather than every week.  You can make what you like – bring you grandmother’s recipes in.

Used Furniture, beds, bedding, appliances, dishes, bicycles, household and kitchen items are needed by unfortunate people in the community.  If you are getting rid of something, check with Dale Loerch.  He will most likely find a home for any of your unwanted items.

Campbell’s Soup Labels and Cereal Box Tops for Education are needed for Children’s Haven.  Jeanne Helmer is collecting them.  You can take them to the Activity Office.

The 50/50 Drawing this morning raised $100.50 for  Quilting for the Needy.  Bonnie Langfield won the pot.
