10/31/2012 Wednesday Morning Meeting News

The population of Winter Ranch is now 235 -
up from 174 last week!

At the end of the meeting Brenda Granger thanked
our managers, Cathy and Larry Chapin,
for all they do for us by crowning them our
Holiday King and Queen.
                                      Aren't they cute!

Thanksgiving Sign-up Sheets:  The sign-up sheets are now posted and you can find them on the "sign-up" board across from the mail room.

The Picture Directories are in and if you purchased one last year, you can pick them up in the Activity Office.

The Church needs someone to play music on the following dates:  November 18, December 23rd and December 24.  If you would like to volunteer, see Jan Howard.  Church services will begin this Sunday in Friendship Hall.

Symphonic Band Tickets for November 13th are available in the Office.  The concert is entitled "This Is My Country".  Cost of tickets is $5.

Barb DeGarmo is doing the Christmas Stockings Drive again this year.  For information see the postings that are in several locations in the office and Friendship Hall.  Ramen Noodles and candy can be added to the stockings as they fill a need.

Our Managers, Cathy and Larry, would like everyone to start parking on their own sites as the park is starting to fill up and someone coming in should not have to wait for anyone to move a vehicle.  Also, it is time for those that have golf carts to start using the golf cart parking to make more room for cars as our parking space is limited.

The Veterans Day Brunch will be on November 9th at 10 AM.  The menu includes scrambled eggs, biscuits, fruit cups and sausage.  Price is $3.50 per person.  Veterans eat free.

Round Dancing will begin on Tuesday, November 13th from 10 to Noon.  The cost will be $9 per couple.  We will be dancing with Skip and Kay who lead Round Dancing at other Wilder Parks.

Yard Sale - There will be one yard sale this year and we will be sharing it with Trophy Gardens, however, the date has not yet been scheduled.

The Shuffleboard Courts have been redone.  Wilder paid half and we need to pay the other half.  Our share is $3000.  We will be having a silent auction in January to help defray these costs.  If you have items that you would like to donate, give it to JD and he'll find a place to store it.    The date for the Silent Auction has not yet been determined.

Burger King on Tower Road is going to have  Bingo but so far it has been scheduled during the Wednesday morning meeting so Lynn is going to see if she can get the day or time changed.

Dairy Queen in Alamo will also be having Bingo.  The start date is yet to be determined.

Wellness Screening is scheduled for November 12th at 7:00 AM.

Zumba Gold Dance Exercise will begin on Thursdays from 11-Noon.  This exercise program is geared for senior citizens.  Lynn has arranged a 10-minute demo after the morning meeting on December 5th.

Our new Tour Director is Gail Field and Gail is a resident of Trophy Gardens.  There are several Bus Trips listed on her Bulletin Board in Friendship Hall along with her business cards.  Let her know if you are interested in any of them.

The Peter Piper Pizza Luncheons are starting on November 7th at 11 AM.  Cost of the pizza buffet and ice cream is $5.94 which includes tax.  The pizza lunches will be the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month.
