Wednesday, March 14th, Morning Meeting News

We went from 825 to 785 residents in the park this week.  Cathy again reminded us that when we leave we need to leave some labels so that our mail can be forwarded.  You would not believe the amount of mail that comes in after we leave and needs to be forwarded.  You can get labels for this if you need them through the Computer Group.  Just let the Business Office know that you need them.  There is a small fee for the labels.

Cathy thanked Ross and Sheryl Craft and all their volunteers who served in the Mail Room.  They did a great job and are very much appreciated.

Congratulations to Bob Haskell and Don Draker who participated in the Senior Olympics.  Bob Haskell won the Gold for Horseshoes and Don Draker won the Silver!

Congratulations to Joe Stice, Jim Ely and Dave Herring who participated in the Wilder Parks Shuffleboard Tournament.  They won 1st place and Winter Ranch has the Traveling Trophy for the first time.  Joe Stice won the top honors!

Congratulations to Joe Ironside for a hole-in-one on the 9th hole.  He made the shot on February 14th.

Update on the Media Center:  Thus far $4500 has been donated to the project.  They will have a final meeting on the project next Tuesday and JD expects that the new system will be installed by the end of the month.

Winter Ranch and Trophy Gardens will have the St. Patrick's Day Doggie Parade on March 16th, Friday, at 10:00 AM at Doggie Run.  Dress those doggies or other pets up in their St. Patrick's Day dudsLynn just gave a word of caution - don't use jello to dye your dog's fur.  They had one that did that and it didn't grown out until August!

Doc Gaskin donated a flag that has been flown over Washington DC for the Veterans Wall.  Doc and Betty have been winter residents of Winter Ranch since 19997.  Bob French will mount the flag on the Veterans Wall over the summer.

PICTURES - The pictures that were taken on January 26th are now available in the Activity Office.  The Picture Directories will be here when you arrive next winter.

The results from the Wellness Screening will be available in the Library on March 16th at 1:30 PM.

The last Craft Show of the season was held yesterday.  Lynn thanked everyone who volunteered to bake pies, move tables, sell food, etc.  It is a big job and you are all appreciated!

The March Ladies Luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, March 15th, at noon.  The meal will include Chicken Portofino, steamed vegetables, and white rice.  There will also be a Fashion Show.  Tickets are no longer available.

Winter Ranch Resident Appreciation Day will be held on March 24th from 6-8 PM.  Razz Ma Tazz will perform and then we'll have ice cream afterwards.  JD encouraged us all to attend this free appreciation event.

As we are leaving and find that we have too much to take home, we can drop off non-perishable food items, clothing or things that you think someone might need in the Small Hall.  These will be donated through the Good Samaritan project.  The last day to put them in the box is March 26th.  After that you will have to deliver them yourselves.

Card Shower -  Pastor Gordon Johnson is celebrating his birthday on March 18th and we would like to shower him with cards.  You can give them to anyone on the Church Board and they will present them to him.
